2025 SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
For High School Seniors and Teacher Interns include the following:
LYNN FULLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
provides a great opportunity for all SSRA members to nominate a student who is graduating and/or has graduated from the Seattle School District and is interested in pursuing the field of elementary education.
All that is required is a letter explaining why the nominator thinks the student is worthy of this scholarship as well as a short essay from the student regarding his or her goals in the field of elementary education.
Nominations are due May 31st and recipients will be notified by June 15, 2025
The $3000 award is sent to the recipient’s selected post-secondary institution.

THE PHIL KONKEL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP 2025
This scholarship is offered to graduating seniors of Seattle Public High Schools. Student must be nominated by a SSRA member, retired or active.
The nominee must pursue a career in the field of education to be considered for this award. The scholarship award is to be used for tuition, books, lab fees, and other education related expenses. The $3000 award can be used for the 2025-2026 school year. The award will be sent to the recipient’s selected postsecondary institution in August with a copy to the scholarship recipient. Any unused funds at the end of the school year must be returned to the Seattle School Retirees Association. Scholarship recipient will be notified of award by May 31st, 2025.
SSRA TEACHING INTERN SCHOLARSHIP
Six scholarships of $5,000 are available for teacher interns. These scholarships for future teachers who are student teaching during the academic year 2025-2026 through a college/university program and who are working on initial certification in an educational field.

SEATTLE SCHOOLS SCHOLARSHIPS FUND
SSRA is proud to contribute $25,000 annually to the Seattle Schools Scholarship Fund, which offers a one time award of $7,500 to 4 graduating seniors from Seattle High Schools. The recipients have all overcome particular hardships and challenges during their school years. The grants awards are for tuition expenses at any college or university, and they may also be used for vocational training of the students’ choice
S.E.E.D OVERVIEW
SSSRA is proud to offer grants to any employee of Seattle Public Schools for the benefit of students in their building. Grants can be used for supplies, entrance tickets, transportation, Speakers, room decorations, furniture, educational equipment, etc. There is no comparison of the requests to determine which are granted and which are not; they are granted in order of application, as long as the request fits the parameters of use and the person making the request qualifies. Members of SSRA (Actives) can apply annually for a grant of up to $500; non-members are eligible for a one-time grant of $200.
